You do not become healthy by going to visit your doctor. In fact most people see the doctors only when they are sick. They should see the doctors when they are healthy for preventive purposes rather than waiting to see them only when illness strikes.

Good health begins with the choices you make in your lifestyle. The choices you can make to stay healthy include the following:

  1. Don’t smoke. Stay away from second hand smoke.
  2. Eat a balance and healthy diet by having more greens, less salt, less fat and less sugar.
  3. Exercise regularly (at least 3 times a week)
  4. Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.
  5. Don’t use illegal drugs or drugs that are bought over the internet.
  6. Don’t take traditional medicine unless you are very sure they are safe.
  7. Practice safe sex. Use a condom.
  8. See your doctor regularly for health screening
  9. Get vaccinated against infectious diseases such as Hepatitis A & B, Influenza, Typhoid, Tetanus and Chicken Pox
  10. Adopt good posture and make sure the computer screen is adjusted to your eye level
  11. Make sure you have adequate rest every day and learn how to cope with stress
  12. Drive carefully. Put on a seat belt.
