Everyone can use some health tips that are specifically directed at making you live longer and live a better life. Let’s look at some good health tips you can use to make sure you stay healthy and happy:

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. This keeps you free of foodborne illnesses such as bacterial illnesses and hepatitis A.
  • If you want to lose weight, aim for at least a half kilogram or kilogram per week. Anything more than that is excessive and you won’t be able to maintain that kind of weight loss.

  • Stop smoking. If nothing else, you will eliminate the passive smoking your kid’s and other family members get when you smoke around them.
  • If you think you may be depressed, get help. There are help lines for depression that can save your life and can get you the kind of care you need.
  • Get regular screening exams for breast and colon cancer. Get regular diabetic screening as these diseases are common and can be treated when treated early.
  • Strengthen your bones with foods rich in calcium and take calcium supplements if you know you are at risk for osteoporosis.
  • Practice good hygiene by washing your face and hands on a regular basis using lots of water and soap. This can keep bacteria and viruses away from your system.
  • Don’t sit at a desk all day. It is bad for your back. Stand periodically and take a small walk every once in a while so that you can keep your back in balance.
  • Eat two full servings of fruit and two servings of vegetables every day for good health.
  • Decrease stress as much as you can every day. This means doing meditation, yoga or other stress reliever such as exercise in order to avoid the negative impact of stress.
  • Relax through your meals and avoid eating hurriedly. Eating too fast is bad for your digestion.
  • Pay attention to what your doctor says and take medications recommended for you. This will keep you as healthy as possible.
  • If you have asthma, control your exposure to triggers. This might mean reducing your exposure to animal dander, dust mites, cool air, mold and tobacco smoke.
  • Protect your skin from the sun. Wear sunscreen and long sleeves if possible. Skin cancer is very prevalent and can be deadly.
  • Get regular exercise and eat a diet that is balanced and low in calories. This will keep your weight down to a regular weight and will prevent the complications of obesity.
