H1N1 virus may have started to mutate because there are now reports that the virus is resistant to Tamiflu.

Resistance to Tamiflu was first reported in Japan. Two cases of anti-viral drug resistance to Tamiflu were reported within a week.

The woman patient in Osaka was treated and recovered with treatment with Relenza, the alternative to Tamiflu, after anti-viral resistance was noted.

Roche, the Swiss pharmaceutical giant claims that it is normal for 0.4% of adults to develop resistance to Tamiflu.
